Results Matter

Known for her tenacity, Kim believes that delivering results is more important than politics and partisanship.  She understands what it means to work across party lines and achieve results without comprising principles.  Her past service as a legislator representing the Billings Heights demonstrates what can be accomplished with people before politics.

Kim is the candidate with a proven record of delivering real results that matter for Montana’s working families. Including: 

  • Protecting taxpayers by limiting the state’s ability to impose new taxes without legislative approval.
  • Strengthening private property rights in eminent domain disputes.
  • Revising campaign disclosure laws to improve public transparency.
  • Creating an innovative job training assistance program to help Montana’s small business employees.
  • Expanding funding for road construction and repair across Montana.
  • Establishing that autism and diabetes treatments are covered by health insurance.
  • Raising fuel economy standards for state purchased vehicles to ensure state-owned vehicles are economical to operate.
  • Leading the effort to try and close corporate tax loopholes. 
  • Passing legislation so teen and other drivers are safer on the road including DUI enforcement.
  • Establishing stiff fines to crack down on telemarketer fraud.



Leadership and Recognition

  • Elected to leadership positions in both the Montana House of Representatives and the Montana State Senate.
  • Chaired the following committees: Revenue and Transportation Interim Committee, Senate Local Government Committee, Legislative Council.
  • Served as vice chair of the Environmental Quality Council, Senate Taxation Committee, and House Taxation Committee.
  • Served as a member on the Montana State Workforce Investment Board, Pacific Northwest Economic Region, Council of State Governments, National Commission on Workforce.


 

Received awards from the following organizations: 

YWCA, Montana Adult Education Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Montana Traffic Education Association, National Association Against Drunk Driving, Montana Wildlife Federation Conservation, Montana Building Industry Association, Easter Seals, and Council of State Governments.
